The current owners have, over the years, taken some very good bucks off of this property. They have practiced serious management techniques over the years, taking only mature bucks and doing some quality doe management. The neighbors have done the same and it shows. It is also reflected in the harvest pictures in this post. While not your everyday property, it has excellent cover and lots of it. Several bedding and fawning areas hold deer year-round and an occasional Black Bear(see trail cam pics). While walking the property, I bounced several deer out of two of these bedding areas and found 4 sheds in them and on the edges.

There is an area of about 5 acres that is a swamp with dead timber in it and a heavy thicket surrounding it. I saw a number of wood ducks and mallards flush out of it and there were a number of geese that had parked there as well. This area also provides a freshwater source for the deer as well as great duck and goose habitat. The deer I jumped up ran directly into this area and the tall CRP-looking grass to the east. They crossed through the high grass and into another thick bedding area to the north. It was apparent with numerous heavy trails that the deer here frequent both areas often. The property has a good trail system and is easily accessed off a paved road. There are also two large elevated box blinds located in perfect locations to cover different areas of the land. The properties to the south and west are large cornfields that provide all the groceries for the deer herd here, but there are several places for planting smaller kill plots near the bedding areas and between them and the corn. Several spots in the front of the property near the road would be perfect camping locations and or building spots.
