Description
One-quarter of a mile off Dodd Road sits this scenic acreage. The rolling hilltops are covered with new growth hardwoods and pine trees that overlook a large pond on the south end of the property. The easement access off Dodd Road brings you into the southeast corner of the property. This corner has a dense stand of hardwood trees arranged on a small hilltop with views of the whole property. As you walk down to the pond and further north, you notice a mature stand of pine trees. This area has deer trails winding in and out from all directions. Uphill from the pine trees, there is a high ridge with thousands of hardwood trees. These trees (mostly oak and maple) were planted in the early 1990s as part of a woody CRP program. The wooded hilltops have scrapes and rubs still visible from the fall as this area is obviously a travel corridor for bucks moving through the area. The western boundary of the property is lower ground with dense vegetation. The low ground not only acts as great bedding and thermal cover for deer but pheasants as well. The pond on the south boundary line is one of my favorite parts of this scenic acreage. The pond will not only add waterfowl hunting in the fall but it makes all of the buildable sites feel like lakefront.
